Growing up, the idea of going to Vans Warped Tour seemed like a right of passage in rebellious tweendom.
I, too, wanted to see Paramore, and I, too, had Hot Topic fits to get off! The legendary Merriweather Post Pavilion was packed out with fans whose cute and angsty looks beamed in the summer sunlight.
In addition to everyone's built-in accessory of an infectious smile, there were lots of glowing, highlighter-yellow dye jobs, fishnet-heavy looks, chunky chokers and chains, beat up Vans, and lots and lots of black.

The perspiration from the water bottle got on the camera and it was ruined. So put all of your electronics in ziplock bags. Double bag it to be safer. An empty or unopened water bottle No matter what the venue rules are normally, Warped Tour will make sure that you can bring in an empty or unopened water bottle. There are free water fill-up stations, but the lines can be long so I recommend you stop by a gas station on your way and pick up a full disposable water bottle.
A lot of venues will open it and toss the cap so bring an extra cap if you can. What to wear Have you checked out my blog post about What to Wear to a Concert? Here are the important things to consider: Wear comfortable shoes. Shorts and a t-shirt or tank top. Maybe a casual dress. Bring a jacket and throw it into your bag. A comfortable cross body bag or small backpack. Make sure the water bottle is sealed though! Sunscreen Chapstick Your camera A sharpie just in case you run into someone and want an autograph and for writing down set times.
Earplugs optional Hair ties Write down important cell phone numbers on a piece of paper or card and keep it in your wallet, just in case your phone dies. Make new friends. Keep an eye out for signing times.
Give blood! You can sign up with Music Saves Lives — the first fans that redeem their voucher for giving blood get a backstage wristband! Bring a parent! For the current generation of fans and artists, the end of the tour is, inevitably, the beginning of whatever comes next. Fans are yelling their names and singing their lyrics back at them from the crowd. At a signing at their merch tent after the set, the screaming starts again.
