One of these massive fish swims right up to me without a care in the world, it has no fear of me and in fact was quite curious, like, "What the hell is this thing flopping around in the deep? It swam right up to me and I had my spear cocked and ready to fire. This massive fish just looked me right in the eye, daring me to try and spear it, I was so tempted, but I also knew a fish that size would have taken me for a ride and I may have lost my spear and perhaps it would have swam me down deep where I'd have to let go.
That's the other thing, I realized I was on the edge of a sea mount. The Cook Islands poke out the sea like the tippy tops of a mountain. I was on the edge of very, very deep water. I could see the floor just falling away like I was sitting on the peak of a mountain. The massive fish, sharks, and the inky cobalt blue of the deep rattled me and it hit me just how insane I was and how dangerous things could be.
If something happened to me, there was nobody gonna come save me, I was totally alone in one of the most wild places I've ever been in my life… wearing a pair of sneakers and holding a Hawaiian sling. Wow, still gives me chills thinking about that. I decided after a fairly short amount of time I needed to get back in. The getting in was much harder and much more dangerous as I had to body surf in on the back of a wave and try and time it right. Well, I almost made it but as I stood up on the reef I turned around and a wave twice the size of me was about to crash on my head.
Instinctively, I dove up into the wave as it crashed and I was able to keep my feet under me as the wave dragged me across the reef chewing up the bottoms of my sneakers.
I barely escaped my journey to the deep and thus made my way into the final stretch of the game. That experience was transcendental and gave me a newfound appreciation for the wilds of nature and my own inner strength. Mostly pretty good. I think I was more fun than I came across though. I do wish I had been a bit more candid in my daily interviews.
I feel like I held things back for some reason. What was it like coming back to regular society after being out there? Was there culture shock or an adjustment coming back? The first time was super rough. I had just spent 39 days living the ultimate adventure. I really felt like I had a chance to win, and I was so beat up from the day to day I was startled by my entrance back into "civilization. One thing that was immediately obvious was how my bed was way, way too comfortable and soft.
The softness was alarming, and I just could not sleep in my bed, I had to sleep on the floor for a week are so. Also, the abundance of food! Damn I really indulged once the game ended. I went into bacchanalian beast mode… eating, drinking, fornicating! It showed in that challenge. He is in it to win it. I also loved that final moment when Tai went to check on Ozzy even in victory. You were pretty candid before the season that CBS had to convince you that Ozzy should be on this season.
After watching him out there, what was your take on how he did and what he added to the show? I was wrong. CBS was right. I thought fans were tired of him and needed a break. But when we introduced him at the live finale for Millennials v Gen X , he got the loudest ovation.
I was wrong by several thousand miles. Long Live Survivor! A post shared by ozcardagrouch ozcardagrouch on Feb 12, at pm PST.
He returned for Survivor: South Pacific the 23rd season. Lusth became the final member of the jury after losing an immunity challenge to Sophie Clarke — who went on to win. Lusth went on to try Survivor one more time, in the 34th season, for Survivor: Game Changers. He ended up blindsided yet again on Day 24 because he was too much of a physical threat. He never believed they could get 20 winners to commit to coming back to the show. So, it seemed possible at the time that runner-ups — such as Lusth — might get a chance to be on the 20th anniversary season.
However, with the addition of a higher appearance fee and the promise that no one will go home after three days, winners started agreeing to return. Their chemistry popped off the screen almost instantaneously and the innocence seen within their relationship—from galavanting in the woods to singing campfire songs—highlighted the pure sweetness these two shared.
Fellow castaways began to speculate when the two often skipped off to be alone, but Greg assured them they were just pals who understood each other's senses of humor. Although this showmance didn't last beyond the show, they still remain one of the cutest duos in Survivor history. To this day, the power couple remains one of the show's most memorable showmances for all of the greatest joys and toughest challenges they faced together.
Jenna left Season 8 early to be with her mother, who was terminally ill with cancer, and it was something Ethan completely understood since he had lost his father to the disease.
Following their romance together on the show, Jenna stuck close by Ethan as he navigated the challenges that came with having Hodgkin's Lymphoma Disease. Then, after 10 years of dating, this special couple ended their relationship. Villains , Season 20 Current status: No longer together During Season 20, Villains Tribe mates Coach and Jerri had their fellow castaways wondering about their relationship status when the two were caught cuddling on Day 1.
Even though the event caused a stir at camp, the "Black Widow" and "Dragon Slayer" denied it and both voiced their concerns about getting into a showmance. While the pair formed a close alliance, which took them far in the game, they feared playing together would ultimately hurt their chances of winning; therefore, they kept their distance, but still considered each another as their trustworthy counterpart.
These two maybe have not been an official Survivor couple, but their relationship was fun to watch. The duo, who were part of the Favorites Team, later formed a four-person alliance with fellow showmancers, Parvati and James. When Amanda and Ozzy steamed up the small screen with an intense make-out session and a sexy shower scene, their relationship seemed to really be taking off.
